15500 Block of Euclid Ave, East Cleveland 1953 & 2020

On top: a high up shot of Euclid avenue intersecting with Coit rd. Highlighted were the new lines painted on the road to help manage traffic. Black and white shot from 1953, color shot 2020.

This little block of retail begins at 15501 and ends at 15545. Since it's nearly impossible to read the names of the businesses in the 1953 image, I tracked down old newspapers to figure out what stores would have been in the background.

15501 Euclid Ave: Tobin Drug Store
15503 Euclid Ave: a barbershop
15505 Euclid Ave: Custom TV
15513 Euclid Ave: Euclid-Taylor Hardware Store
15515 Euclid Ave: Unknown
15517 Euclid Ave: Hoffmans Ice Cream and Candy
15525 Euclid Ave: Page Realty
15527 Euclid Ave: Beachland Gifts & Card Shop
15531 Euclid Ave: Vadakin Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
15533 Euclid Ave: W.F. Hann & Sons
15545: Fisher Foods
